Chapter 28: Caring

The next morning Barbara woke up late, as usual, her alarm had been ringing but she kept switching it off. She had to dress up in a hurry to leave, Hazel was the only one at the dining, and Mr. Calvin was out of town.

"Good morning Mom!"

"Sit and eat."

"Come on Mom, I am late."

"You should know you go to work before sleeping like some jobless lazy bone." Barbara sat on the dining, left for Hazel, she would not bother to force her to have breakfast but Calvin had given her strict warning never to let Barbara out of her sight without eating.

This past few days, skipping meals has been her normal routine.

"Here eat now." She pushed the food to her front, Barbara had to eat, so she checked her phone, so many missed calls.

"Mom, thanks for the meal but I have to go right now." She hurried out of their residence, only to see Dante standing at the side of his car staring at his wristwatch.
