Chapter 20: I want you to go home

"How do you feel about this plan, Miss Emma?"

A man, standing next to the projector screen showcasing his plan, turned to ask Emma as soon as he finished speaking. As the leader of the meeting, all eyes in the room were pinned on her, awaiting her opinion.

"Miss Emma?" Seeing no response from her, the man inquired again.

Charles gently tapped Emma's arm. Only then did she seem to snap back to reality. Even with meticulous makeup, the dark circles under her eyes couldn't be fully concealed. This drained face was a stark contrast to the usual energetic Emma.

The rest of the attendees silently exchanged glances.

"Miss Emma, you have been overworking yourself recently. I think you should leave early and rest. I will compile the report of today's meeting and email it to you," suggested the Director of the R&D department, breaking the silence.

Charles, filled with concern, looked at Emma. Without waiting for her reply, he stood up, "I agree. Miss Mia, could you please take over for her? She
