CHAPTER 10

Kimberly walked into the huge mansion looking like a novice. Her feet wobbled as she saw the large number of people waiting in the compound.

"How will I win against these people?" She thought examining the kind of people present.

Some had cooperated wears on, some short gown and skirt, probably to seduce Landon Hernandez. Some dressed like nerds, with serious looks and recommended glasses.

She walked to the back trying not to pull too much attention to herself, though some of them were beginning to stare at her already.

She sighted Ruby as she walked out of the building, and noticed was staring at her.

"I should not have worn this gown." She whispered to herself looking away.

Ruby who was still boiling in anger because of what Landon did, had no choice but to call in Kimberly Johnson as ordered by Landon.

"Kimberly Johnson!" She called and Kimberly's eyes widened.

The others looked around trying to get who Kimberly Johnson is, and why she wasn't called with a number.

Kimberly began to walk towards Ruby and she began to hear the people mumbled unpleasant words like;

"Why wasn't she called according to the number? She must be Landon Hernandez's slut."

"Can't you see how she is dressed? She must have seduced Landon before coming."

She ignored them and kept walking to Ruby. Though her legs were shivering as she did, she made sure she didn't fall in front of the lunatics spitting out nonsense.

"I am Kimberly Johnson." She said politely. She could the gaze of everyone right on her as she stood in front of Ruby.

"Follow me," Ruby said coldly leading Kimberly into the mansion. They got into the living room and she got lost staring at it.

"Woah." She pronounced forgetting totally that it was Landon Hernandez's mansion. The man that she had never liked since she met him.

"If I can't like him, I can like his house." She thought still glaring.

"Are you going to glare all through the day or come here for your interview," Landon told in a hoarse voice.

Kimberly swallowed hard walking to Landon.

"Good morning." She said trying so hard to be polite after seeing Landon's annoying face.

"Sit down," Ruby said to her and she nodded sitting on a single sitter couch.

"So you want to be a maid in my mansion," Landon said with a grin on his face.

"That's why I am here." She responded trying to smile.

"So why do you think you are fit for this job, instead of the hundreds standing out there," Landon said enjoying himself.

"I don't think I am fit, I am just here to try my luck," Kim responded knowing Landon just wanted to feel himself.

Ruby looked at Landon unbelievably.

"Why is he asking so many questions when he knows she would be given the job? What's up with him?" Ruby questioned herself

She glared at Kimberly feeling so jealous of her face. To be honest, she looked pretty and it sucks.

"So you are not positive that you will get the Job?" Landon asked.

"I am not negative," Kim responded and Ruby got so angry with the drama going between both of them.

"Are you here for just the money or you love cleaning?" He further asked.

"Both," Kim responded sharply. She wouldn't let him ruin her day again.

"You seem competent," Landon reported as an official.

"I am competent," Kim replied.

"You have to let go of your Ego self and acknowledge me as your boss." Landon declared and Kim glared at him for some minutes.

"Am I going to see him as my boss at all?" She asked herself as she glared at him.

"Is that understood?" He asked and she nodded.

"For him to say these things, that means I have been given the job." She thought happily smiling outwardly.

Landon wrinkled his brows when he saw her smile.

"Is she that happy to work under me?" He thought feeling big.

"Ruby dismiss the others and do the needful with her." He said getting up and Kim looked at him.

"Do the needful?" She thought aloud and Ruby glared at her angrily making Kim swallow hard.

"What the hell is wrong with this lady?" Kimberly asked herself.

Ruby got in front of the people, she felt pity for them because they just wasted their time coming. Landon knew who he wanted already.

"That will be all. You can all leave." She said and the people began to grumble.

"We haven't been interviewed." A woman said in frustration.

"I knew that lady has something to do with Landon Hernandez. Let's go." Another woman said and they began to take their leave one after the other grumbling.

Ruby walked into the house and met Kimberly surveying the house with her eyes.

"Stop staring and follow me." She said and Kim looked at her. Ruby walked to the stairs and Kimberly followed behind her.

Kim watched the expression on Ruby's face and saw she had a frown on it.

"Are you okay?" Kim asked and Ruby turned her head slightly, looking at her with the corner of her eyes.

She said nothing in return and Kim began to grow angry.

"I don't care if you hate me. But try acting cool, you look ugly with that frown." Kimberly said and Ruby looked at her with her eyes widened in rage.

"How dare you talk to me in that manner? You are just a maid remember?" She yelled making Kim smile.

"I know ladies like you. But to be honest, I am more intelligent than you are because if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't hate someone I don't even know. It's a waste." Kim let out making Ruby's face grow red in anger.

Landon who was listening to their conversation couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"That was huge." He said to himself feeling Kim's savage replies.

"Where are we going again? If you don't take me there, you won't have issues with me but your boss. So I advise you to take me there." Kimberly added before Ruby could find the right words.

"B**ch," Ruby mumbled walking away, and Kimberly giggled silently behind her.

"No one tries shit with me and goes scot-free." She said inside of her feeling fly.
