Chapter 63: What Ifs

“Jay, how’s my mother?” I asked Jay while panting when I saw him sitting outside the emergency room. He stood up quickly when he saw me. His expression was full of confusion and concern while walking in my direction. I can feel how my heart beats furiously. 

He just stared at me for a couple of seconds while wearing a blank expression. His eyes were sleepless. I looked at my watch, and it was four o’clock in the morning.

I don’t know how to explain what I feel right now. I’m currently in the middle of confusion while trying to calm down because I don’t want to dominate my feelings over what was happening.
