Chapter Twenty Six

When Agathe assured me that she would make me want to forget everything about Carlyle's mother and only make me think about her from now on, I believed her.

I was not sure if I should be regretful that I caved into her persistence because look at her now, pretending she has a terrible headache so that I may stop our sparring match.

Yet in the end, I gave in. I know I should be alarmed.

Because little by little, she was changing me. She was not even trying that hard.

"Alright. Looks like you're not feeling well, love. Shall we carry on tomorrow?" I got up, offering my hand to her.

"Come on. Let's wake Carlyle up and have some breakfast." I reached out my hand to her, and she took her time to accept it.

When she did, I helped her stand up, our lips almost crashing with each other. She covered her mouth immediately, looking embarrassed.

"Why? You still haven't brushed your teeth, have you?" I ribbed her.
