Chapter 2

Personal Bodyguard

"Annalise Leonila?" Candice read aloud while Larisa was tying her hair, getting ready to leave the house and make her first step.

She was 18 when her parents began to give her missions. Those were small compared to this one. It's either their family left some dirt on their way and she would have to clean it all and that includes killing or she will accomplish a small mission that her father told her to. All those years, she never fails them with all the missions she handled. Larisa moved gently and immaculately.

But this mission that was given to her, this is massive. It will take her a long time before she can accomplish everything.

"Yeah, that would be me from now on once I left this house and successfully got in to the Clyborne's place." She explained and took a heavy breath after finishing her ponytail.

"What's your first step? Aunt Lucinda gave you the authority to handle it all by yourself," Candice said. She's always in their house. It seems like she lives there already.

"It's not just me. Your mission with Noah is to back me up. I will be reporting everything to you along with my parents," she said and shook her head.

"Yeah, I know."

"Gabe Clyborne is looking for a maid and for a bodyguard," Larisa said and threw her iPad on the bed. She saw it posted online when she did some research regarding them.

"I know him, he's popular!" She exclaimed and giggled. "Look at that face, he's so handsome, right?!" Her shoulders lowered with that reaction from her. She pulled back her iPad from her as she glared at Candice.

"Sorry. Anyways, are you gonna apply as his maid?"

"Hell, no." She replied and chuckled. "I'll be applying as his bodyguard," she added with a sly smile as she glanced at herself in the mirror again.

"Bodyguard?" she repeated in surprise.

"Larisa?"

"Mom," she called when her mother entered her room.

"Ready?" she asked.

"Born ready," she replied.

"This is a watch not just for time, you can speak to us with this." Her father explained and put the watch on her wrist by himself.

"Remember, you have to tell us every small detail that you will notice. Notify us once you get in." Lucinda reminded her.

"You will be suitable for a bodyguard rather than maid," Yna commented. Larisa was wearing a black fitted shirt that she paired with her black cargo pants and a black high cut shoes. She has always admired the color of black since she was a kid.

"Don't let us down," Aris said and hugged her for the last time.

"We will be tracking you down," Noah said as he was already preparing everything to track her with the tracking device that is included on her watch.

"Who are you again?" Lucinda asked, testing her.

"I'm Annalise Leonila, 23 years old. My parents were deceased and I have no relatives. I live by myself and I graduated with a course in Business Management." She discussed very well the new identity that she will be now living for.

"You're ready," Lucinda uttered confidently with her daughter.

She took a cab to make sure that the plan would go well. Her eyes were closed while waiting to arrive in the mansion of the Clyborne. She was tapping her lap with her finger, waiting inside the cab. When she felt it stopped gently, she opened her eyes and knew that she had arrived at her destination.

"We're here, Miss." The driver said.

She roamed her eyes around and snapped the huge black gate with the massive 'Clyborne' written above it. Larisa smirked secretly before she went out with her things.

"I'm here," she mumbled as she simply touched her watch.

"She's there," Candice exclaimed out loud.

"We can all hear it, Candice." Her mother said and shook her head.

"She's really there," Noah confirmed with his computer, tracking her.

"Who are you?" The man asked in front of the gate. There were two of them, probably the bodyguard assigned here.

"I am here to apply for the job that Mr. Gabe Clyborne is offering. I was told to go here for my application," she said politely with that sweet smile. The man was looking at her, probably captivated and enticed by her all over again.

"I will accompany you inside," the other guard said and opened the small gate for her.

"Thank you," she said sweetly. The guard was walking in front of her and she kept a small distance between them.

"I'm in," she mumbled.

"She entered," Noah said.

"You got this, Larisa." Lucinda murmured.

It was a long pathway with the fountain in the middle. The place was huge. Her eyes were wandering in secrecy. There were some men who were fighting—or maybe in training. There are also women wearing the maids' attire who are lined up on the other side.

"Sir Leo," the guard called the man who was wearing his glasses.

"And who is this?" He asked when he looked at Larisa.

"She's applying for the position of maid,"

"No, I'm not." She said immediately and cut him out. Leo crossed his eyebrows and remained his eyes at her.

"I'm Gabe Clyborne's assistant, what are you applying for if not a maid?" He asked with a glimpse of confusion.

She took a silent deep breath before answering him. So, he's the assistant?

"I would like to apply as his personal bodyguard,"

"Boydgu—what?" The guard beside her asked in surprise before he laughed like she was joking. She clenched her hand behind her and controlled herself.

"Are you joking? I'm too busy for that," Leo said.

"I'm dead serious," she uttered firmly.

Leo sighed in distress and shook his head.

"Gabe Clyborne is looking for a personal bodyguard who can protect him, not someone that he will protect," he explained furtherly. "Now, I can only offer you the maid position and not the bodyguard position. I don't think you will be suitable for th—"

"Choose the strongest one to those men who will compete with me," she said and pointed to the men who were practicing.

"Stop that nonsen—"

"I can prove my capability. If I win, I will get the position…if not, then I will leave." She offered in order to get the position.

Leo stared at her for a moment. The woman had a lot to say and was braver than all the women he ever met. There was something about her that made her different and caught his interest.

"Fine," he agreed. "Follow me," he said and began to march towards those men.

"Hey, are you out of your mind? You're a woman, those men are good at figh—"

"Not because I'm a woman doesn't mean I cannot defeat a man." She said and cut him out.

"Gentlemen," Leo called and interrupted them.

"What is it, Leo?" David asked, chasing his breath. They are all sweating.

"A woman wants to apply as Gabe's personal assistant," Leo said. They all now look at her beside Leo before they all laughed aside from the man named David.

"You are the strongest David, why don't you test her? If she wins over you, then she gets the job. If not, she will leave with no words." Leo explained.

"No way,"

"You're beautiful, don't put yourself at risk."

The men laughed but her blank face remained on them.

"Are you sure about this?" David asked her.

"A hundred percent sure," she replied. David and Leo eyed each other before David sighed and looked back at her.

"Fine, I won't be thinking that you're a girl." He warned.

"Woah, is she serious?"

They all gave the two of them some space for the fight. David was in his right position to fight her while she was only standing straight with her chin up and looking straight in his eyes.

When Leo blew the whistle, David quickly made a very fast move and attacked her.

"Fvck!"

"Holy hell," the audience commented when she was faster than she dodge all his moves until she was able to hold his feet and pulled it like a small wood. David's eyes widened as Larisa surprised him.

He still made a move and pulled his feet back and now tried to punch her in her beautiful face. At first, she was only avoiding it with that cold and blank face of hers. Until he punched her again and this time, she stopped his fist with her one hand looking directly into his eyes.

"Who is she?" Leo mumbled to himself.

She was not even trembling with David's fist in her hand. She was very fast when she took that chance to kick him on his stomach and even stepped on his shoulders that made him fall on the ground. To end the fight, Larisa choked her with her hand, cornering him.

"I accept defeat," David said before they all clapped their hands.

"Fvck, you got defeated by a woman?" They all teased him while laughing.

Larisa stood up and now faced Leo, Gabe's assistant.

"I won," she mentioned. Leo was still in awe.

"You did," he replied.

"You," they all stopped when they heard that voice. And there was the man she was waiting for, walking towards them.

"Gabe," Leo called.

Gabe Clyborne is finally here, the heir.

"She's applying as your personal bodyguard," Leo informed him quickly.

"What's your name?" Gabe asked. He saw how she fought and won over David.

"I'm Annalise Leonila," she introduced and touched her watch secretly as she bowed her head.

"She met him," Lucinda said when they heard her introduce herself.

"You're hired," Gabe Clyborne announced before he turned his back on them.
