Chapter 35

The loud music had become background noise. I was on my fourth or fifth drink and it still wasn't calming my nerves over tonight.

I had discussed my ideas with the manager and she had loved them, but that little meeting was over quickly and I had gone to the bar area to drink while waiting for Gianni to arrive.

I absentmindedly toyed with the necklace around my neck while glancing around the club.

There was still no sign of Gianni anywhere in sight.

"Hey."

I looked over at the young blond man greeting me, "Uh, hi."

"I couldn't help but notice how worried you look. A pretty girl like you shouldn't be frowning like that."

I scoffed, "Oh, buddy, you are so barking up the wrong tree."

He laughed, "I'm trying to be friendly, what's the harm in that?"

"No harm, just yet. But I'm waiting for someone, so please don't get any ideas."

"You've been here for hours, I think you've been stood up, sweet heart."

I turned to glare at him, "Not that it's any of your business, but I own the place. And
