133: Victory at Last

Leila’s POV

My eyes were still watering from the horrid fog I’d just stepped into, and my hands were clutching my sides as the chilly weather assaulted my body—but it was all for him, so I’d weather even the worst storms to help him find his way back to me.

Even if the storm in question was searching the forbidden lands for a deadly plant.

“Kol! Can you fucking walk like you’ve got blood flowing through those veins of yours?” I turned around and snapped at the stupid guard that was accompanying me.

For a trip that was meant to take at least five days, the bastard had made sure that it lasted for a over a week because of his sluggishness while riding the carriage and how easily he took the wrong routes because he couldn’t read the maps.

“I’m sorry, ma’am” He gave me his usual flimsy apology that didn’t mean shit.

“Then move like it, you waste of space” I was trying my best not to scream and attract any wild animals but he was testing my patience and making it thin by the second.
