Kai’s POV

I subtly thanked Leila for her help by nodding in her direction softly and she smiled at me brightly while equally modding to prove that she understood.

Just then I looked at the door and caught a glimpse of an angry Cora storming off and my guts pushed me to follow her for some reason. I still couldn't feel anything, whatever I had ingested had closed my throat while Leila’s potions and spells had numbed my entire body to get rid of the toxins so when I rose to my feet I almost tumbled over but Levi supported me just in time.

“Should I come with you? I can get you whatever you need” Leila offered standing up to follow me.

“No, I'm fine” I told her and she slowly lowered herself back into her seat with a nod.
