Discovering the thief's identity

Noya's pov

Stifling a yawn, I pulled the bedspread from my body and got up from the bed after tossing around for the umpteenth time. For some reason, I could not sleep.

On days like these, I loved watching the moon. I strode to my curtain and pulled it aside to watch the moon when my eye caught a figure in the dark.

I squinted my eyes and realised that the person was tiptoeing out of Jessica's room. My hands flew to my mouth in shock. My curiosity got the better part of me and immediately I pulled my green shawl over my body to prevent a cold since I was already in my nightie. I dashed to the door to find out who it was.

Go back inside, Noya.

I ignored the warning. When I stepped out, I could make out the features of the stranger and he was walking so fast. The dark figure held something shiny in his hands as he increased his pace. I had to keep up with him so I walked as fast as possible.
