Chapter 108: We need more time

"You will need the staff of the king. It's the only way to extract it from her body." The dark one quickly said when Sam snatched a knife from the table.

"Sammi, there's no time." Adrian announced.

"How do I extract it?" Sam inquired as he ignored his brother. "We don't have the time, Sammi. You have to think about other ways. He's going to find her." Adrian insisted, raising his voice.

Sam turned abruptly to face Adrian. "What will you have me do, brother?" Sam sneered at Adrian. Adrian took a step back but held his ground. "He's here in a few hours. I think it's wiser to prepare for his arrival." Adrian reasoned in a calmer tone.

"This thing is coming out of her, Adrian. I'm not leaving it.... Live... Inside her. Even when I drive a stake through his bloody brain, the first thing that's going to happen is killing everything that's not supposed to be near her." Sam warned in a low tone. "Let alone inside her. I'll yank that damn thing out of her with my bare hands, if I have to."
