Chapter 63: Swim

True, the water would be freezing cold. But I had a thing for ice now. My fire burned brighter, anyway. I could withstand the cold.

There was something about the wide-eyed stares that made me nervous. And I don't know where my balls were coming from, but I was feeling very feisty. Especially after him calling me a blood whore. And I knew exactly how to get under his skin.

"I quite fancy a swim." I remarked out loud. "Fay." Sam warned, his body tense and his eyes so dark, I'm sure Satan was coming through.

"Do you know how to swim, Sam?" I asked, lifting my foot to rest it on the ledge.

"Do NOT do this. Nobody will save you." Sam threatened, but his tone was unsure and he seemed genuinely nervous. When he took one step towards me, I stood on the ledge with both feet. I spread my arms wide, and the entire ship seemed to hold its breath in anticipation.

"Fay. You're going to die if you fall." Adrian's voice crackled with tension, his eyes betraying genuine fear.
