Chapter 23 Never Sane

Lucky's POV

I was staring at Damien's phone on my bed. I'm alone here in the cabin. Eliza and Claire are having a meeting with the team.

I heaved a sigh. Curiosity is killing me. I want to know if the Engineer Smith Claire and Eliza are talking about is the same Zandra Smith I know.

Squeezing my eyes closed, I remember my encounters with Zandra Smith during college. She hates me because she likes Damien. She's Damien's childhood friend and obviously, she's in love with Damien.

She tried to force me to break up with Damien before. She also once tried to frame me up with another man. And… And I believe she was the one who paid some addicts to violate me. Luckily, Damien came that time.

Damien doesn't know what Zandra did to me. I didn't tell him because I used to believe that people do bad things out of too much love. But now… I don't know. I don't even know if I should still believe in romantic love.

"Lucky."

I lifted my face and smiled at Eliza. "Hey!"

She grinned and sat on my bed. S
