23. Diana's change

"And here it is," Kevin's voice carried a sense of triumph as he set the cake on the table. Delilah's face lit up with a genuine smile, her eyes tracing the familiar sight of a chocolate cake before her.

Nathan's voice piped up, a hint of playful complaint lacing his words. "Again? Chocolate cake?" His tone held a touch of amusement as he addressed Kevin, a glint of mischief in his eyes. "You know, Kevin Uncle, even Dad got the same cake for Mommy." His revelation hung in the air.

Kevin's expression betrayed a hint of dissatisfaction at being unintentionally outdone.

Jennifer, ever the voice of practicality, chimed in. "Okay, guys, enough of tempting us now." Her words carried a light-hearted tone, a gentle nudge to move things along. "Delilah, come on, cut the cake."

Damon's agreement followed promptly, her voice carrying a note of eager anticipation. "Yes, Delilah," he added, a mixture of enthusiasm and hunger evident in his tone, "we're so hungry. Take this knife and let's dig in."
