Chapter 28: Another Woman

The bodyguard arrived with a small first aid kit. Edmund put ointment on the burns and cleaned the small cuts on my hand with alcohol and cotton.

"You're always troubling yourself," he said when he finished what he was doing.

I just snorted.

I would like to reason that we won't have anything to eat if I don't cook but I know he won't accept it for any reason.

"It’s here!"

We both turned to the source of the shrill voice and that was all Paul was pale. He regained his 'boyish' stance and then nonchalantly walked towards us.

"Breakfast is here."

He put down what we both cooked and my face was almost red when I saw some burnt bacon there, I'm sure it was me.

When he properly landed that in front of him, he straightened up and winked at me. The corner of my lips lifted because I knew he was just saying goodbye to admire the person next to me.

Edmund faked a cough so we caught a glimpse of him.

His eagle eyes watched Paul.

"We don't need any more, you can leave now."

My eyes widened sudden
