In a duplex in a less packed area of the city, a brunette haired woman, sent a deadly glare across a scarred face man, kneeling before her.
"I failed, boss. I apologize." He said and the woman raised her hand and slapped him hard across the cheek. Then she began pacing up and down the room. "Lie low for now. I would deal with this mess you have created, myself." She instructed. ___ Scarlett stared at the doctor in charge of Skylar's treatment with her face as pale as sheet. "Sorry. What did you just say?" She slowly asked, disbelief in her eyes. "We're sorry to let you know that we tried out best but..." The doctor paused, swallowing nervously as he avoided Scarlett's eyes. "...we couldn't save the child in her womb." He announced in one breath. Scarlett's knees suddenly became weak as she collapsed in to the seat. The doctor hurried on to add, "Also, she's still unconscious." Skylar was pregnant? Scarlett couldn't believe her ears. How? When? And now she's lost the child because of her?? Tears rolled down her cheeks, as a wave of sadness immediately hit her. "I am so sorry, Sky." Scarlett buried her face in her hands and cried. She couldn't believe how negligent she had been towards her friend that she hadn't known all this while. She was the one who made her stay back in the UK, yet, she hadn't been able to take proper responsibility of her. Guilt clutched at her heart, threatening to break her apart as she continuously cried. "I am so sorry," Aimee Brooke reached out and placed an arm around her crying foster daughter, and hugged her, letting her cry in her arms instead.......
