Forty-second Run

The group continued their journey on the desolate road, the ominous sky overhead hinting at the unpredictable nature of the transformed world. No one could even feel at ease, even though they were the only people on the road. They couldn't see another human, a mindless zombie, let alone an animal. Although they saw mutated animals, it is still not enough for the team to feel at ease. After all, they don't know if they are safe or not.

As Brandon drove the bus, a tense atmosphere settled within the group, or, in other words, it didn't even leave them alert to the dangers that lurked beyond the bus windows. They couldn't even let their guard down for a second.

Suddenly, the sound of a distant commotion reached their ears. Brandon squinted ahead, his eyes widening as he witnessed a violent confrontation between two groups up ahead. One group appeared to be ambushing the other, attempting to rob them of their belongings.
