Isn't it too early?

Autumn's standpoint

I tightened the knot of the thin scarf over my hips as I walked to the sea. Mordecai was out swimming, I was with him before I went in to prepare dinner. Cai was floating on the water like a dead man. The sea carried his body so effortlessly that my heart skipped. He might be… I rushed to the sea just to make sure he wasn't dead.

"Mordecai! Mordecai, are you alright?!" He raised his head from the water and smiled. I heaved with relief. "Can you stop floating in the water like a dead person? You scared me."

"It's not my fault I know how to swim too well!" He shouted. I rolled my eyes. He said he was the captain of the swim team back in high school and wanted to be a swimmer before he changed his mind. Mordecai was very good at swimming, it was like the water and he was one.
