Chapter 22

As we stepped into the pack house, we were directed to the Alpha's office before we could go anywhere.

Charles, the Alpha, happened to be my uncle and Emily's father. I was expecting a cold person, but he turned out to be quite likeable.

As soon as he saw me, he held my hands and said, "So glad you are alive".

I knew he would have known about me, but I thought he wouldn't acknowledge me. He welcomed us warmly and gave us a place to stay.

The meeting was starting the next day, but we had come a day earlier to settle in and also meet my family before the meeting began.

I was about to take a shower when I heard a knock on the door. "Who could that be?" I said to myself.

As I moved closer to the door, I caught her scent and laughed. "Emily, how have you been?" I said to her and she entered. "I have been good, and you?" She asked. "I'm fine," I replied. "I was about to take a shower when you came in," I said to her. "You can go ahead, I'll wait for you," She said.
