She has an IV attached to her forearm and a heart monitor beeping with steady regularity to the right of her patient bed. Kira “Hey bestie!” Lo gives me a weak smile, waving through the doorway. I hobble over on my crutches. “You’re just thrilled to see me, huh?” She gives me another weak smile.
