CHAPTER 64

They hate me," Lara murmured to Cage. He stared at her.

"Well, Gabby saw the fight. She wasn't a child when it happened so it was expected that she would be hostile towards you."

"Is this how I'll have to keep explaining myself? It's tiring," she said sadly.

Cage felt guilty. He could understand being judged without doing anything. His people were really harsh to others.

He thought of how to make her happy yet couldn't think of anything that would change her mood right now. If only he could prove to her that she is enough.

An hour later, they reached the palace and the carriage stopped. They got down from the carriage and entered the palace.

"Where will you be taking him to?" She asked when she saw Ted taking the young boy away.

"He'll be kept in the dungeon."

"Won't that be too harsh on him?" She frowned.

"Compared to that place we found him, this would be better." Cage told her and walked inside the palace.
