Struggling For Control

It started like a slight ringing in my ear and that was what woke me up. I looked to my left and Mia and Ivan were still fast asleep, looking so calm and peaceful.

Looking at her, one would never imagine that she had gone through all that she had gone through and was still standing. She was resilient and that was just one of the things that I loved about her.

The ringing came again, this time it was more intense than it was the last time and it rocked both of my ears and I rolled out of bed and got to my feet.

What the hell was going on? On top of the ringing, I felt like invisible hands were trying to pull me into some sort of pit.

I was fighting myself, trying to resist the invisible but hands evil that were suddenly attacking and drawing me.

I knew, instinctively, that whatever it was that they were pulling me to was evil and dark. I could not lose myself to whatever that was.

The ringing hit my ears again, lowering my defense and disorienting me, I staggered out of the room
