Chapter 148

CLAIRE's POV

I was ready, I had steeled my resolve, I had to say it. I turned to the alpha and looked him dead in the eyes. Enzo had a hopeful look in his eyes, and that crushed me. I shut my eyes tight and spoke.

“I am more than happy that you see me that way, and I am extremely thankful for everything you have done for me.” Then I blew out a breath. “But my heart belongs to someone else and I will have to say no.”
