“Can you drive?”

My eyes snapped up. “What?”

“Can you drive?” Alex repeated his question softly.

He was propped up against the pillows, the bandage on his arm had been removed, revealing the ugly red scrapes he had gotten from the broken glass and twisted metal.

“N-No,” I muttered, flushing bright red when his lips twitched.

“You’re telling me that you’re an eighteen-year-old who has never gotten behind the wheel. Weren’t you even a little curious about driving? Owning your own car?”

I shifted uneasily in the chair. “Not much of an outgoing person, remember?”

“I know. But seriously, you’ve never wanted to learn?”

I shook my head.

“Why?”

“I’ve just never gotten the urge to learn how to drive. It would have been useless since I barely leave the house, and I’m fine with that.”

He nodded slowly. “I wish you knew though,” he muttered. “I want to go home.”

“The doctor hasn’t given you a go ahead, yet. He said that you’ll be staying here until the test results are back.”
