She was in and out of sleep while she clung to Ash, unwilling to let him go and fearful that if she did, she would somehow be taken from him again. They were in the hospital and she had been given a bed, but she insisted on staying in Ash’s lap, thankfully he didn’t seem annoyed with her for needing him so close. For the first time since she had been kidnapped, she felt like some part of her wasn’t missing anymore.
Finally, the doctor entered and apologized for being late, since he had been arranging everything for the influx of victims from the compound. Apparently, there were so many victims that they had to prioritize the sickest. They had had to expand the hospital into nearby guest rooms, since they were not prepared for that many patients. The thought of how many victims Balor had had was terrifying.
“Is there any way I can help?” She offered in a small voice, feeling like she came off
