Chapter Twenty Eight - Pretending

I became a little nervous as our cab arrived at the restaurant, but I wasn’t going to show that to Aubrey because she was worried enough right now, without me adding to it. I paid the fare, and we got out of the cab to head inside. I slipped my arm around her waist.

“You ready for this?” Aubrey asked.

“Hell yeah,” I grinned.

Her cousin Isabella and her husband Tobin were already here. We glanced around when we entered. Why I found the need to do so, I don’t know because I have no clue what they look like.

“There they are,” she said.

She nodded in the direction of where they were. I looked over and saw a well-dressed couple, her cousin was a pretty blonde woman, and her husband was a good-looking guy. They seemed to match well. Aubrey led us over to the table.
