Chapter 46: Car Chases

As we sped down the street, we saw Beta Marcus rush out the front with the two warriors he brought with him as they attempted to chase after our car. Considering my car was old and not very fast, I wasn’t sure how far we would get before they caught up but I didn’t want to stick around to find out either.

As we reached the end of the street, I looked in my rear view mirror to confirm that they were jumping into the black SUV they brought with them to chase us. I turned the corner and kept going, frantic and desperate to get to Dante. I knew if I could get to him, he wouldn’t let them take me.

I was in such a panic that I didn’t even realize how much of a panic I was in until Joan touched my shoulder, “Shhh…just breath Celeste, take deep breaths in and out. We got away from them!”

I tried focusing on my breathing as I continued rushing towards the freeway, desperate to reach the pack house.
