Chapter 20

Roxanne

I look at the television. It's showing some isolated place and a big warehouse located in the middle, surrounded by humongous trees. I can see the entrance of the warehouse and a few men outside, smoking. Various trees surrounding it.

“What is this?" I asked, confused. I still need to have a conversation with him about the marriage ordeal. But something about now is wrong. Something wrong is going to happen. I just know it. I can feel it in my gut.

“Shh, love,..." He puts his index finger on my lips. “just enjoy." He pecks my nose. His words give me shudders. His hand falls on my shoulder as he pulls me closer. I look away from him and at the television. I can feel his intense eyes on me. His proximity, giving me goosebumps. I can feel his hard muscles beneath his clothes. And I hate it that I am feeling like this after what he has done.

I put my palm on his chest and pushed him away. My divided attention on television as I put my all might in pushing him away.
