Chapter 94

Selena's POV

What on earth is going on? Why would Diego just demand I go dress fitting with him, today of all days? He knows how busy I am! I was dressed for work when his driver arrived at the house.

I called him, but before I could even object, he ended the call. What am I going to do?

Dejected, I walked back into the house. My mother turned to me, surprised I was still around. Jada was in her arms, and Jadon was at her feet, reaching up for her to pick him up.

When he saw me, he toddled over. Sophia was out running errands, leaving Mom on babysitting duty. Thankfully, Gracie would be back from the mall soon to lend a hand.

"I thought you left already," Mom said.

"No," I shook my head.

Suddenly, the doorbell – which rarely rang – chimed. My mother and I exchanged a surprised look. "Are you expecting someone?" she asked.

"No," I replied.

I bent down to pick up Jadon and went to answer the door. There stood Jake, his arms full of wrapped boxes.
