Truth.

Chapter One.

Third-Person POV.

Arielle was placed right on the stretcher, and she kept on wailing and shouting in pain. She didn't know it was going to be that early; she was supposed to give birth in the next two weeks, but it happened so fast that she was already in labor.

"You should stop shouting! You are calling for too much attention." Her stepmother, who was with her, warned her while she ran together with the nurses as they pushed the stretcher towards the ward.

Arielle was less bothered by what her mother was telling her. She knew the kind of person her stepmother was. She was very evil, and she hated her with passion.

All what Arielle could feel at that moment was pure pain. It was way worse than the period cramps she does experience.

She thought that was going to be the end for her.

"Ma'am, you will have to stay here. You can't enter with us." The doctor told Linda, who was Arielle's stepmother. "Yes! I wasn't interested in going in before." She hissed, and then sat on the chair that was placed along the hallway.

Arielle was in the labor room. They tried to make her push the baby out, but she couldn't. The only method they could think of at that moment was for her to go through a cesarean session. It would be dangerous, especially given the fact that the baby was still premature.

That was the only thing that might save her and the baby. They placed her on the stretcher again, while they tried to take her out of the labor room and back to where the operation would be happening.

Linda watched what was happening, but she didn't care at all. She then saw her husband coming from afar, and she told her husband what happened after she started experiencing the pain.

David, who was her father, walked up to where she was. "What have you done to my daughter? Why did you not watch over her, huh? What is your problem?" He shouted at Linda.

"Stop shouting at me! If I had known that she was going to give birth today, do you think that we were going to end up in this condition? Only if you know how much I loved her, and how I treated her right, even though she is not my daughter." She tried gaslighting him, just like she was going to do.

He fell for the gaslighting again, just like the normal way he was going to keep falling for it.

"She would be going through the CS session now! I wished I could have helped her in any way that I could." Linda let the tears out of her eyes, even though they were not real.

She successfully convinced her husband to stop shouting at her. "So how is my daughter doing right now? Huh?" He questioned her.

"I don't know how she is doing right now. She was rushed to the operation room right before you walked in. The only thing that we could get to do at this moment is to pray." She told him while he nodded in agreement to what she told him.

After a few minutes of waiting, the doctor came out of the room, and then walked to where they were. "How is she? How is she doing now? How is my grandchild?" David rushed to the doctor who was in charge.

"Your child is doing really great. She gave birth to a handsome daughter, but I don't think the mother would be able to survive. She is urgently in need of blood." The doctor told the father, who was right at his front.

"As long as I could get to donate my blood, everything would be okay, right?" The father asked the doctor.

"Yes! Sure. Everything would be okay. We would do some blood tests before you could donate, too. You can follow us." The doctor informed him.

"You should take care, and then stay strong." Linda told David as he walked away

"Why does he have to act that way? Just because of his daughter. He should impregnate me already with a boy so that he would get to take over all his properties." Linda thought as she watched as her husband followed the doctor.

"Sir! Are you sure that you are her father?" The doctor asked David, who was in the room with him. They were at the place where they were supposed to test for blood so that he would be able to donate.

"What I am trying to say is that the blood is not matching. You are not the real father of this lady." The doctor told David.

"No way! There is no way that something like that would happen. It is not possible for me not to be the father. She has been with me since she was young. How would you say that I am not her father?" The father knew what kind of person his late wife was. She wasn't the type to cheat on him.

He didn't want to further any argument. He just brought out the test results, and then showed them to David. It was then that reality hit him, and he hated it with his guts. There was nothing that he could do at that moment again.

He dropped the paper, and then stood up from the chair. "Find a person who would donate." He then dropped a stack of cash on the doctor's table, and walled out of the office without even looking back.

That was the most heartbreaking news that he was ever going to hear that evening. The daughter that you have been raising for the past twenty-three years, only for him to realize that she was not his real daughter.

Linda saw her husband, who walked past her. She saw how sad he was, and then wondered what happened to him again. "What is it?" Linda questioned him immediately, and she got to where he was.

"You shouldn't allow the daughter of a bastard to enter my house. She should never come close to where I am. I don't want to hear her name around me anymore." He told his wife.

Linda didn't know what the problem was, but she was really happy that something like that happened. "I would watch over her. I don't know why you are acting this way, but we can get to talk about it once you are at home." She said to him, and then he walked out of the hospital completely

"What is the problem? Why was he acting that way?" She queried the doctor who she came across. "It turned out that he is not the real father of the child that was in the room. I bet he must be really heartbroken! I mean, anyone would be heartbroken once they could get to discover something like that." The doctor told Linda.

Linda was so happy; she didn't want to show her expression at that moment.

"If care is not taken, the patient is going to die. What do you want us to do?" The doctor asked Linda.
