34. His Plaything

"Sebastian! I didn't know you came back here?" Lucia's face brightened.

"You two know each other?" I asked, even though it was evident that these two had a history.

"Lucia is Frederick's daughter. He is the manager at this hotel," Sebastian explains.

"We almost got married," Lucia declared.

My brows rose together. "Who almost got married?"

"Sebastian and I, silly. We were in love," she chirped.

I didn't know to process all this information. Lucia and Sebastian? In love? I felt a small amount of jealousy flickering inside me, but I forced myself to keep my face straight. I didn't know what to say for a moment. "Is that so?" I finally managed to say something.

"It's not true. At least not the full truth. Lucia and I almost got married, but we weren't in love," Sebastian said grimly and grabbed my hand.

"No need to hide it from Delilah. She is going to be your new wife, no? It would be best if you told her all of your secrets," Lucia giggled.
