How could they do that to me?! I fought the tears in my eyes as whoops and shouts erupted from the crowd that raged outside still, having the time of their life while I could only wait in horror until my time to be taken by Alpha Alaric reached.

“Thank you,” I coughed to the guard who motioned me to the large brown-wood door etched into the bare stone walls of the hallway. The dull ache in my temples only increased when the guard opened the door to my new room, waving me inside with a stony face.

The room was small. There was little furniture save for the wooden beds and the small ugly dresser at the edge of the room. The round, blue-tinted windows opened to a depressing view of the dark castle with its slick black walls and fire pits littering the foyer.
