After a while no one responded, thinking Thomas was probably reminding Jeremy of their so-called arrangement. Realizing their cluelessness, he added… “your engagement banquet will be held in two days at most.”

“Are you insane?”
“No way!” The three protested one after another, finally understanding what the rush was about.
“It’s not a request, the decision has already been made and you have no one but yourself to blame, besides… what the heck were you thinking running around with that Stevens girl behind my back?”
Stunned, Jeremy’s breath hitched as his lips moved without uttering a single word of defense. It seemed the truth had already been made known, so there was no use in hiding or pretending.

The following day was rather hectic in all corners. Patricia nervously explained Thomas’s visit to Laura and thus busied herself making preparation with Mr. Hector concerning her official decision in filing for a divorce.
