I stared at Dante in disbelief. What did he think he was doing?

I grabbed the door and tried to force it open. It didn't even budge or jiggle in its lock.

“Dante!"

“You have nowhere to go, Erica. I had the doors replaced with anti-wirewolf steel. You can't break through. It's impenetrable."

He began to walk slowly towards me and my legs began to shake. I should have come here. I should have known that it was all a trick.

“Stay away from me, Dante! Don't you dare come any closer!"

I raised my hands. There was no weapon to brandish.

My body was locked in place. His dark eyes stared deep into my soul as if he was reading the secrets of my heart.

He grabbed me and pinned me against the door. His hands went to my throat and his nose brushed against my cheek as he buried his face into my neck and took in my scent.

"You put on some new perfume. I like it. Was it for me?”
