Laura:

I covered my mouth and backed into a corner as fast as I could. My heart was pounding in my chest.

From my secluded corner, I could see Dante poke his head out of his office. He looked around and I felt my lungs collapse in on themselves.

Oh fuck! He was going to find me.

He stepped out of his office and looked around. I could feel the tears beginning to form in my eyes. I was so screwed.

I closed my eyes so tight and prayed that he wouldn't find me.

It felt like an eternity but I soon heard this office door click shut.

I felt the air rush back into my lungs. I was heady and could barely stay upright on my feet.

I had come to look for Lorenzo. I was determined to make sure that he saw my father. I knew that he had been putting off the meeting on purpose.

I wanted to burst into his office and expose him for the liar that he was but I overheard him talking to himself and decided to listen.

I waited for a while, before crawling out of my little hiding corner.
