Dominik's Game

"Is the master the man sitting there? Adine's mind wandered. The woman stared straight ahead, questions piling up in her head.

"Sir, you called me?" Adine dared to start the conversation. "Did I make a mistake that requires me to meet you in person?"

"You think your mistake was small?"

The baritone voice was enough to startle Adine. She gasped and immediately turned around. The woman's eyes were perfectly rounded, and she took a few steps back.

The figure she thought was sitting in front of her stood tall behind her with both hands in her pockets.

"Dominik-" The man's cold gaze instantly made Adine's body stiffen, so she corrected her words. "I mean Mr. Dominik."

Adine looked down; she couldn't stand those sharp eyes. Her head even seemed full of questions about Dominik's attitude, which suddenly turned cold, far from the gentle one she had received.
