As soon as he says that, the entire hallway is filled, echoing with a loud crazy sort of laughter, and everyone turns to face the source of the noise.

Emberlyn grimaces, watching as Alex laughs hysterically, his palm against his face, gripping his belly. Sage is even staring at him as if she believes he is a moron. His current burst of laughter is not the same as the ones he usually lets out when he is trying to make light of something. It sounds like he is trying to progressively lose his sanity because it sounds like the laughter of anguish and rage.

Emberlyn is aware that this is an extremely unfortunate time for this to be occurring. She has spent time with Alex and is well acquainted with him. She is aware of every single nuance of his emotions and anticipates the exact feeling that will surface when he makes a particular facial expression. There is only rage to be revealed by this at this moment. She is thinking about that alone right now.
