Chapter 44

Leroi's POV

I tightened my grip around Erica's arm as we entered the ballroom. I wasn't concerned with how large or how glittery everything was.

I kept a cool face while passing a glance towards the farther end of the ballroom.

My eyes turned yellow as I activated my superhuman eyesight. I needed to see and who was here today.

So far, I've sighted a few vampires and a great many werewolves.

Many of them are my people. I had gone a great deal to perfect my plan for today, I wouldn't let anything or anybody spoil it for me.

The object of my search, Dmitri wasn't here. Yet.

He was going to be here. Or so o keep telling myself.

He has to come.

I plastered a pleasant smile of business on my lips and I led Erica towards the rest of my partners.

It was a table made large enough for twenty people. I took my seat to the left and Erica took the seat next to mine. She had this elegant smile on her face as her tone was all politeness and she carried the aura of a CEO. A proud grin
