Ellen shrugged with a smile, but said nothing, as if Purple's reaction meant less to her.

"What do you mean by dying?!" Purple yelled, pissed off by the silence.

Ellen shrugged again. "Nothing, just forget it,"

"No, I won't, and don't try to brush me off. Tell me, is Lucas dying?"

"You're trying to put words in my mouth, Purple,"

"Then explain what the fuck you meant by dying?"

"I don't have to answer to you,"

Purple chuckled dryly with a wave of the hand.

"When did you become this jealous, hating, irresponsible daughter of a bitch? This isn't the El I know as a friend…"

At her words, Ellen's eyes widened, then narrowed.

"I'm… I'm…I'm a jealous, hating bitch?"

Purple blinked, maybe she shouldn't have said that, the harsh words had hit Ellen hard, and it was obvious, but it didn't matter, being apologetic would not solve the problem.

"Can you explain your words then?"

"You know what? Just forget it, and excuse me," she said icily and brushed past her to the elevator.
