After the duke left, he took advantage of his absence to open the book about the Emius once again. He was dying to understand what the purple colour he saw on Taegen's eyes meant.
As he was flipping through the big book, he read a lot of interesting things he didn't know about these strange creatures. The one that struck him the most was the fact that the Emius are the most sensitive creatures when it comes to a breakup or the loss of someone very dear.
It hurt him to learn that the king suffered a lot after the death of his wife. From what he read, they lock themselves in a dark space for a long time without eating or drinking. They move away from their loved ones, which is why his relationship with his friends was no longer the same and most importantly, it's hard for them to love again. This made the boy think a lot. Did this mean that what he told him the day before wasn't out of love? Did it mean that he only got confused?
Jimmy read a few more pages, but t
Nylian came back to Velvus during the afternoon. Prince Ayas was declared innocent but the case was still not closed. The fairy's murder was still a mystery to them.“Jimmy!” he called right after he stepped inside the mansion.Jimmy absent only for a few hours and the duke already missed the young man. “Jimmy!”He took off his coat and headed to the library, knowing he spent most of his time there. He opened the door with a large smile on his face, but it was empty. He raised an eyebrow and walked to his room. Jimmy wasn't there either.“Your Grace,” the butler bowed to him. He looked quite nervous and disturbed.“Do you know where Jimmy is?”“Your Grace...” Karlyle rubbed the back of his neck. The Duke sighed. “Karlyle, where is Jimmy?”The butler pressed his lips, “I am sorry your grace, I should not have let him go out.”“What d
Jimmy was sitting in the dark dungeon, his face hidden between his knees. If he was scared months ago when he was jailed in Taegen's castle, this time he was terrified. This castle was nothing welcoming. The interior was dark, only small candles lit up the corridors. There was a horrible smell of mould, proof that it wasn't being taken care of.The creatures inside were terrifying. The majority resembled the one he attacked in the forest the other day.Jimmy stared at the bars and sighed, remembering what the Prince told him earlier.“What do you want from me?” he asked.Adalis sat on his throne and smirked, “There are two things that I want from you.”Jimmy gulped, “What are they?”“First of all, my brother's unhappiness,” the Prince said. “Oh, you don't know how much I cannot stand seeing him smiling.”The boy frowned, “What does it have to do with me?” he asked.Adalis started laughing, “He doesn't know!” he told his guards wh
Jimmy was sitting on the floor, watching the moonlight from the small window at the top of the wall. He would jump every time he heard footsteps. He thought it was Adalis coming to shave his hair, but it always ended up being a guard. It had been a long time since he felt so lonely. It reminded him of his life on earth, he was always alone, without friends, without family and anyone at his side. His arrival at Fantasia changed the whole stream of his life. He met creatures who were very friendly and caring to him like Ruvyn and Nieven, attentive and protective like Nylian, confusing and mysterious like Taegen. His thoughts turned to the voice that surprised him from time to time. He had no idea who it was, but he felt like he had a strong connection with that woman.“Who are you?” he whispered, hoping she would answer him. But it seemed like her voice appeared only to put him in a strange situation like this one.“I can't trust you anymo
In a fraction of seconds, the atmosphere inside the castle changed. Men screamed in pain clutching their grievous wounds as the Dark Creatures attacked their companions. Adalis was watching his knights beating his enemies so easily, sitting comfortably on his throne. In a few minutes, the centaurs and ogres were already on the ground, burned from head to toe because of the poisonous liquid that the Tentaculios and Leonus threw.Taegen and his friends were currently mastering their swords. They did their best to beat the knights and avoid being burned by one of the sticky creatures. The king felt responsible for the death of his subjects, as well as the wounded creatures. He felt guilty for summoning them to fight on his side knowing that his brother was unbeatable. He tried to find a way to escape to find Jimmy and finish it once and for all, but there was no way to get behind the half-naked knights.Their leader mumbled something in a strange language and
Taegen turned his head and saw the Dark Creatures screaming and transforming into dust. The pumas were groaning and hiding their face from the light. He took advantage of this situation to escape from the main hall and climb the stairs. The light was slowly fading as the screams stopped. He could see clearer now, the corridors were narrow, only portraits of Adalis hung on the wall, still with the same dark colour in the eyes.“Diamond!” he called, hoping he would get an answer from the young man. He opened room after room, finding nothing but empty beds and dusty chairs. He heard loud footsteps, he cursed when he felt someone following him. He turned and saw two knights with a Leonus running toward him. He pressed his lips and ran escaping from them. He climbed other stairs and drew another sword to get ready to fight them. He kept running until he arrived at the top of the castle when he had no way to escape from. He stopped and faced them, pointing the sw
Taegen was playing the piano. The melody that reigned around the garden was so sad that even trees and plants moved slowly with the rhythm. All the servants looked at their King through the windows of the castle. Some cried because they did not want him to lose his smile again when he finally regained it after many years.Ruvyn was looking at him from his room, his head rested on the wall. He was afraid that Taegen would experience the same sadness and sorrow he had experienced after Kythaela's death. The King was dancing his fingers over the keys of the piano, thinking of the last look that Jimmy had given him a week before. After leaving Adalis's castle, Nylian took Jimmy's hand and took him away from Taegen. The young man had tears in his eyes, he just wanted to say goodbye or give the King the last hug, but the duke refused to see them together again. Taegen thought he was right, he didn't want Jimmy to be in danger again because of him. The further he is, the
Nylian finished signing some papers in his study. It was nearly the afternoon and the mansion was peaceful. It reminded him of the years he spent alone after his sister's death.“My Lord,” Karlyle bowed to him and walked with him in the corridor. “Would you like your tea now?”The Duke shook his head, “Later,” he answered. “Is he still sleeping?”“I guess so,” the butler said. “He has not left his room.”Nylian sighed and ran his fingers through his white hair. “Tell the cook to prepare him a delicious breakfast, I will bring it to him.”“Yes my Lord.” the blue-haired Elf left to the kitchen. The Duke sat on a couch. He crossed his arms and kept sighing.Jimmy changed since the battle against Adalis. He knew it had nothing to do with the kidnapping or the mistreatment. The King was the only reason for his sorrow.“The breakfast i
Five weeks later, Jimmy's room was full of papers. They were around his bed, spread on the floor or his desk. The book Nylian bought for him didn't convince him of the Dark Creature's danger but rather gave him ideas of how to get rid of them. He wrote some plans and decided to send them to Ruvyn. He asked Karlyle to come to his room. When the butler entered, he was surprised to see all the mess around.“Don't worry I'll clean this after,” Jimmy said. “I called you before I want you to help me send a letter to the castle.”Karlyle frowned. “You know his grace won't like it.”“It's not for the king,” Jimmy defended. “It's for my friend Ruvyn, I missed him and I want to hear from him.”Karlyle sighed and nodded, “Alright, where is it?”“Here.” Jimmy gave him the envelope. He raised an eyebrow because it wasn't light as it should be. There were at least five papers ins
