Chapter 108: Relieved

KEIRA’s POV

"I'll drive Papa," I suggested as we walked down the driveway.

Papa was about to protest, but he shrugged and rummaged into his pocket for his keys.

"Alright,"

I stepped towards the car door and tried to pull the door open, but it refused to budge.

"Oh, the car doors are locked. Let me," Papa offered and walked over to where I stood.

He stood beside me, his arms brushing against my injured arm through the wooly sweater. I winced and jolted back in pain. Papa turned to me, his eyes filled with shock.

"What happened?" He questioned.

"Oh, i-it is nothing," I stuttered.

"Are you sure?"

I nodded, and thankfully, he did not press further.

As I settled in the driver's seat of Papa's car, my heart still thumped in my chest as I waited for him to sit beside me. I sighed as I pulled out of the driveway and onto the main road, with Papa sitting quietly beside me. He looked so frail and sickly, and I was glad he had finally agreed to go for a full-body check-up after much persuasion.
