Chapter 109: His Little Heiress

CLINT’s POV

I sat at my desk, my mind preoccupied with thoughts of Keira. She had been going through a rough time lately with all the threats her stepbrother, Calvin, had sent her way. He tried to scare and intimidate her, but his motive was unclear. His tactics were clearly working, as Keira was always anxious and stressed out, and by God, I hated seeing her like this.

What could I do to help her? As her therapist, I could ease her stress but not remove it altogether. I wished that I could shoulder all the burden she was carrying on her shoulders.

I picked up the freshly brewed cup of coffee from my desk and took a sip, my mind delving deeper into my thoughts.

My receiver rang, interrupting my reverie as I was lost in thought.

I pressed the button, and a feminine voice came from the speakers.

"Mr. Homer, Mr. Murray is here to see you. Do I let him in?"

My mind and time had been fully occupied with Keira that I had forgotten the meeting I had scheduled with James. I let out an exasper
