Chapter 76: Paranoid

KEIRA’s POV

My hands were gripping the steering wheel tightly as I drove down the road at a considerable speed. I was extremely thankful that Clint had gotten my car fixed and delivered to the front of the investment building.

Leaving Clint had a huge effect on me. It felt like I was back to square one, an anxiety mess. Clint's presence had a way of comforting me and putting my mind at ease, but now that he was not here, I was beginning to get paranoid.

I glanced at my rearview mirror once in a while and out of my window. The pedestrians walking along the road all seemed different to me, in a way. Normally, I paid no mind to them as they were not important to me, but today, it seemed different.

It felt like my stepbrother was amongst the crowd of passersby, watching me as my car went by. I stole a quick glance backwards and saw different cars behind me. What if my stepbrother was in one of those cars, watching me, following me?
