The bed tonight was softer, more comfortable and lulling me into sinking deeper and burying my face into my pillow. The tears cascaded with so much speed that equated to the pain in my heart. I bit my lips to prevent any sound from escaping as I cried harder. My shoulders shook and I let myself go. The tears weren't going to stop soon and I wasn't going to try to stop either. Perhaps after sobbing, it would relieve me of the pain I was feeling, of the hurt that settled heavily in my heart.

Thinking of Ray, all I saw was blankness, a blank future with Ray. There was no way I would experience the happiness I deserve with him. Despite the fact that I was their mate they never ceased to hurt me. No matter how hard my wishful heart thought, I failed to paint that future with Ray. It was a useless attempt that made a whimper escape me. I further dug into my pillow wallowing in self pity.
