Opening Up

I didn't know why but I replaced myself in his place unknowingly and I felt like I would burst into tears. I knew I shouldn't but the story of his life was so pathetic and nobody deserved that. Everybody should get a chance to live a happy life with their parents. Nobody deserves to become a ruthless and heartless criminal like him.

A part of me became soft for him but I didn't show him. I understood that he had a dark past but that doesn't mean he could kidnap me and my family and torture us like that. So I remained silent and kept watching the beautiful town.

"At the age of six, I killed the father of the church and it was my first murder." He spoke after a long silence.

"What?!" I snapped my head toward him and gasped. "Why the hell did you kill an innocent father?! Oh my God!"

"I still remember, I burnt him alive and he was nude." He spoke as if he hadn't heard me and laughed like a mental patient. It scared me like hell.
