Chapter Eight

How my men had been unable to find the silly shewolf was beyond me. She was a fool for leaving the packhouse. She could have been caught and killed by rogues for all I knew.

I had my men out around the clock searching for her but not a clue. It was as if she had never existed.

“Stupid girl.” I banged my fist down onto the table spilling my warm mug of coffee over some papers. I cursed under my breath as the door flew open to reveal my beta. He looked exhausted from stress. I was probably no better with my lack of sleep finally caving in on me. This she wolf had a lot to answer for.

“We cannot find her.” He sighed glumly swinging around in the leather office chair. I sat back in my own chair and stroked my chin thoughtfully.

“Perhaps she is at another pack. Maybe they have kept her hostage for a ransom.” The idea made me sound crazy but I was out of explanations by now.
