As soon as we got to Memphis, we drove to the center of the city and saw that it was in shambles. Buildings were falling to pieces, pieces of rubble through the streets, overturned cars that were on fire. I got out of our car and I looked around. The whole place looked familiar to me but I couldn’t place it. I tried so hard. I started walking down the road for a bit and I stopped next to a pile of rubble. I knew that this place looked familiar but I had never been to Memphis before. We decided that this would be the best place to stay the night. We made sure that there weren’t going to be any surprises left and surprisingly, we found more survivors here. The hotel was abandoned so we all chose a room to stay in and we went to those rooms to get some rest for the night before we headed out again the next morning. I went to my room on the top floor, which was the penthouse. I didn’t have a say in it. The warriors gave me the key to it and I was too tired to argue. Lucas and my warriors were dragged away somewhere, but I didn’t know where and I was taken inside the mayor’s office. I was tied to a chair with silver chains. I growled at them as they were wrapping the chains over my wrists and around my ankles, but they had threatened to kill all my warriors if I didn’t do what they said. My warriors were unconscious, so they would be able to do that. And I wasn’t going to have their blood on my hands. “Wow. That is really pathetic.” I said, watching the two men cower away from the wolves that were entering the office. Jude, in wolf form, crept up to them and started growling and snarling at them as Aria came in behind him holding an ax. She ran straight over to me and she started lining up the ax to where the chains were holding me to the chair. “If you cut off my hand or foot, I will rip your throat out with my bare teeth.” I threatened. And she audibly gulped before lining the ax up again and cutting one of my hands free and then the other one. She did the same with my legs and I was able to stand up, even with the silver burns on my legs and wrists. The warriors from town came screeching to the mine shaft in our vans and the wolves jumped out of the back of them, showing them that we had more numbers than they thought. Including the ones that had just met back up with us from our pack. We had regrouped and our numbers were stronger than they were the night before. Which I don’t think they were expecting. But that’s the way I liked it. To keep them guessing. The vampires that were backing Celeste all looked to her for instructions, but she wasn’t budging. She was determined to fight us. And I was sure that she was certain that she was going to win. I knew the type. I knew that she thought she was going to beat the werewolves at all costs and she would be the hero in the leader’s eyes. We got as far away from that town as possible. It was toxic and so were the people. But we did see Chandler and his people arrive so they could take the humans into custody for treason. I guess that prick was good for something. But when we finally stopped at another destroyed town we went to the hotel and picked rooms that we were going to stay in. It was almost sunrise again and I knew that we shouldn’t be stopping now. This is when we should be traveling. But everyone was exhausted. So I agreed that we could stay here for the day and that night as well. We were better off traveling during the day. To avoid any more sub leaders or anything like that. But it did have me wondering how many towns were working for the vampires now. And it was making me weary of towns that hadn’t been touched yet.
