Knock, knock, knock.

“Addison? Are you okay?” Javan’s voice carries into Addison’s stall. “Your breathing doesn’t sound so good.”

He’s right. Addison’s failing at pulling in a breath just as much as she’s failing at buying herself enough food for the month.

She’s failing at coping at her job just as much as she’s failing at making friends, just as much as she’s failing at having family. She’s just failing. Fucking fail-

“Addison, open the door. I’m worried.”

The world goes black for a second before Addison blinks her eyes into awareness.

She unlocks the door but has no energy to move from her spot on the closed toilet lid.

Javan carefully opens the stall door so he doesn’t startle Addison. Javan’s worried eyes would meet the tear filled ones of Addison’s if Addison hadn’t clenched her eyes shut, the tears overflowing down her face.

Javan quietly takes Addison’s hand and places it on his own chest, over his own heart
