My dad tries to lift me and it’s like my body comes alive fully. Pain spreads from my leg throughout my entire body, and I begin to convulse.
“Oh crap.” My dad says as he releases me on the blood covered floor. He turns me on my side and dials 911.
“911, what’s your emergency?” Is the last thing I hear before I black out.
..............
A steady beeping noise sounds in my ears as I open my eyes slowly. The room is blurred but soon begins to become clear.
Everything looks strange and unnatural and I begin to panic instantly.
“Hey, hey. You’re alright, just breathe.” I hear a voice and I turn to it and I see Davina.
The door of the room makes a small creaking noise and someone enters. No, it’s actually two persons. It’s my mom and Daniel Sims.“Hello, old sport.” Daniel says and I can feel my emotions go crazy.“Miss me?” He says and his smirk causes my dad to snap...............“You son of a..” My dad says loudly but I stop him.“Dad.” My voice comes out stronger than expect.“Quincy, you stay out of this! This bastard is the reason you’re in here!” My dad walks over to Daniel and punches him straight in the nose, causing him to fall back.“Dad!” I say loudly, and a sha
They both are wearing masks and their uniforms don’t have tags.“Is everything alright?” I ask, I want to know if I’m okay.I suddenly feel a jerk in my body and I begin to convulse again. My mind becomes blank and I can feel myself losing consciousness. ............It’s dark and it’s cold.Where am I and why is it so cold?“Quincy?” I hear a subtle voice and my eyes flutter open. It’s Davina, she’s here. She has her hair held in a bun and her eyes look so pretty.“I’m glad you’re awake.” She
“He has congenital heart disease.” The doctor says and my face twists in confusion.“What does that mean?” My mother and I ask at the same time.“You have a hole in your heart, Quincy.” The doctor words echos in my ears. ..............I have a hole in my heart? Is that even possible?“How am I alive?” I ask him and he breathes out a sigh.“You must have had surgery when you were young.” The doctor says as he looks at my mother. “It would been better if both parents were here.”“I don’t remember having any form of surgery in my entire life.” I say to him and he smiles supportin
“This is a delicate situation and Quincy has not been taking medication since he was a child. So the risks are higher.” The doctor words causes goosebumps to erupt on my skin.“If another seizure occurs, he might die.” His words echos in my ears.He then walks towards the door, opens it and steps out of the room, leaving the door open. .............“That was not very professional.” My mom says out loud. “He left the door wide open.”“Aren’t you more concerned that I could die if I have a seizure again, and it could happen any minute?” I ask her and she inhales sharply.I’m not going to lie, I am very scared. This all feels very surreal
“Oh my god, doctor!” I hear my father yell, but I can’t see him. Everything and every sound is fading away.I can now only hear the hospital machine giving off an alarm.“He’s going into shock.” I hear a man’s voice and then I black out, straight into the arms of darkness...............“We can’t keep him here.” I hear a voice and my eyes flutter open.My head hurts so bad, and I feel drunk.“Where would you take him then?” I hear another voice, this one is a female.“The hospital is clearly not fit enough to take care of him.” I hear a third voice, this one I know. It’s my fat
“I don’t really know.” She says and I squint my eyes at her. “I’m going for a wedding.” She says.“Oh, that’s great. Whose?” I ask her, not knowing that what she’s about to say is going to break my heart even though I have not even given it to her yet.“Mine.” She says as she avoids eye contact with me. “I’m getting married tomorrow.” .............I must have heard that wrong.I chuckle and she looks at me with a serious face.“You’re joking, right?” I ask her and she shakes her head.“I’m not, and you should take it seriously.” She says, an
“You’re asking me to leave because I care for my son?” Her voice is getting louder with each word.Oh, boy.“Our son.” My father replies, emphasizing on each word.I can tell that he is on his last nerve and he might snap at any moment...............“Look, Jane. You don’t just get to walk right back into our lives like nothing happened.” He says as he sits down back on the couch.“I didn’t have a choice.” She says and he laughs.“Don’t feed me that bull crap, Jane. You had more than a choice, you literally left us to have an affair.”
“You’re sick, Sam.” She says.A knock on the door startles us and Dr. Nelson opens it and walks in.“I have excellent news, all the tests came back and they are looking good. Quincy will be discharged tomorrow.” He says cheerfully, but it looks like my parents are going to chew him raw..................“What?” My father asks loudly.“Are you hearing yourself?” My mother joins in.“You can’t just discharge someone that almost died a day ago.” My mother points out.And she is making a good point. My last doctor said a lot of serious things. But who am I to defy the tests of this new hospital. This one is bigger, more equipped
