Daisy POV -
Stepping out into the early morning light, I suck in a deep breathe, feeling the freshness of the day fill my lungs as a shudder of energy passes through my muscles. It is so beautiful here, so peaceful, the energy that flows over the land resonates with me. But lovely as it is here, and as much as I feel I belong, in those brief moments I am myself, I can’t help but feel eager to return home, my brother needs me, and so does our pack. It is weird, there is something here, I can feel it, like it wants me to be here, and it makes me want to be here, but in the moments when I feel completely in control I can’t help but wonder what it could be that is making me have these mixed emotions. It is almost as though Carly has spelled me. Cast some kind of spell on me or slipped me a potion to make me want to stay, but, lovely as she is, I can’t imagine thatshe would
Daisy -“So now what?” I asked excitedly, wondering what the plan was now that Ace was in our custody.“I'm holding him here until we get to question everyone, the rest were taken to Rival River to be held as the prison there is larger, then we will try him and punish him,” he stated simply.“At least he isn't a threat anymore, we can all sleep easier knowing he is locked up, who have you got guarding him?” with us being so new to the pack we were still trying to determine who we could trust and who sympathises with Ace.“I've got a rota going, Jack sent over some of his guards and I have placed people I'm not sure about, from our pack, inside the prison, with him, then people I do trust are s
Daisy -I hear murmured voices, deep voices, male voices, and what sounds like a door closing follows and the room goes silent, moments later the door swings open fully and a ginormous hulk of a man stands before me. He is at least 6 foot 7, maybe 8, and is built like a brick sh.., well a really large person. His face is hard, lined in a way that depicts anger and frustration, he looks terrifying, and I can sense by his aura that he is the Alpha I have been waiting to meet. I lower my head in recognition hoping he isn’t really as angry as he looks.“Ah, Beta Daisy, yes, come in, come in,” he says in a jovial tone, and peeking up I thankfully note that the lines marring his face have retreated.“Thank you, Alpha,” I reply, lifting my head and me
Daisy -“You will join us for dinner tonight?” Alpha Nick asked as I crossed the threshold of his office back into the hall I had entered through.“Of course, I would love that,” I replied honestly while Lucy continued to whine in my head, she seemed to perk up a little at our words though.“Wonderful, I will let Carly know we usually sit down to eat at around 8 pm, we will send Jamie down to find and collect you around 7.30 if that works for you? We plan to eat in our private quarters tonight, so Jamie can show you the way, we try to eat as a family once a week at least, it gives us a chance to reconnect and discuss anything in a more casual setting away from the hubbub of the eating hall.” As Alpha Nick explains their reasoning for some private time, I realise that this is another little tidbit of information that m
Welcome back my dear, dear, readers and thank you so much for sticking with me, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this story goes, with Dave and Daisy get along in a new pack, Cassie and Jack fully Mated and the others finding their way, all while trying to capture that piece of work that has caused so much trouble already. New readers please note this is a follow on book and many parts will not make sense unless you have read my first book: Betrayed by the Beta. Happy reading!!! Some things you should remember from last time….. In this particular world of supernatural beings there are a few rules. The Mind-link or verbal link to your wolf, is brand new, only a few people have it, though all wolves coming of age will have the connection with their wolves as a gift from the goddess. Mind-Linking between pack members is also very very new, only a few people currently have the ability, but as packs change, so will the abilities. You get your wolf at the age of 15. You can
Daisy - My darling brother was never one to covet what others had, but because he didn’t want to burden his best friend with 2 packs to run, not when he had only just found his mate after almost 8 years of longing for her. So, with him taking on the role of Alpha to a pack under such turmoil, I am now the unofficial Beta of Twin Lakes as, without Dave as Alpha and me as Beta the pack would be completely leaderless. Ace very quickly went underground, he like, literally vanished, he is in hiding, the bloody coward ran as soon as he felt the shift in power, according to some of the pack members. He escaped with Maddie who was the Delta's daughter and her father. From what we have learned, it seems her father began orchestrating her rise through the ranks a long time ago, he poisoned the Luna to be barren, he encouraged Maddie to be with Ace, as he would have been Alpha since the current Alpha was and would always be childless, and he helped to kill the Luna to weaken Alpha Sven and G
Dave - I still find it hard to believe, I agreed to become an Alpha, what was I even thinking, I can’t do this. I mean I know why I said yes. I agreed simply because I didn’t want Jack to have to take on a crumbling pack on top of his own pack right after finding his mate, but jeez, what was I thinking? I’m still not sure that I made the right choice, I mean, don’t get me wrong, I knew that Jack made it look easy, I knew it had to be a tough position and I knew that I would need to work hard, that I would need to work my ass off to bring this particular pack up to scratch. I’ve never been one to shy away from a challenge either, but this pack has been hit hard by a few wolves that think the world owes them something, it isn’t just a fixer upper pack, this pack needs emotional support as well as an actual leader. Thank the goddess I worked as closely as I did with Jack and thank the goddess he is only a phone call away for advice.Ace may have only been in charge for less than a year,
Dave - Daisy crashes into the chair in front of my desk and crossing her legs she begins tapping her foot on the edge of the desk, “so, what's up?” She asks, “you sound even more stressed than usual this morning, did something happen?” “Yeah, something happened, Mark has got it into his head that he is going to find Ace and take him out, Brian has tried to talk some sense into him, but he is worried it hasn't worked, so we have had to adjust the plan slightly to keep Brian and Mark safe.” Rubbing my temples with the tips of my fingers, I continue, “we are now sending extra men out there in secret, Brian knows about them but Mark doesn't, and Jack has just messaged me saying his extra men are leaving his pack in 45 minutes and that they will meet with ours at the agreed upon location along our adjoining border. I haven't even had a chance to brief my guys. Thankfully they are due to arrive any minute so I will have a good 30 minutes to go over the plan with them before they have to l
Author POV - Brian and Mark departed from their home in Rival River pack and made their way on foot through the woods that separate them from Twin Lakes, they chat idly as they go, talking about the things they want to accomplish in their lives, they talk about anything that comes to mind except the mission they are currently heading towards. Brian dreads the topic coming up, hoping that as their opinions differ on the task at hand that they can just make it through the coming days without any accidents, injuries and more specifically without any fights between themselves. He feared their bond was too new for them to risk a fight no matter how much he disagreed with Mark’s plan, they had after all only been mates for a month and still needed some time to really strengthen their bond to one another. The bond, though accepted by them both was still delicate as they had not yet mated and marked one another, they had originally decided to wait a while and get to know each other better as
